Die Schweizer Armee beabsichtigt die Waffenausbildung von verschiedenen Feuerwaffen in Zukunft in einer Mischform aus Echtschuss und simulationsgestützter Ausbildung zu realisieren, um unter anderen die Lärmemissionen zu reduzieren und zugleich die Effizienz in der Ausbildung zu erhöhen. Hierzu wurde armasuisse beauftragt immersive Schiesskinos zu beschaffen. Die Schiesskinos sollen eine simultane Ausbildung von bis zu 12 Schützen ermöglichen. Diese Ausbildung soll sowohl als Einzelausbildung, wie auch als Gruppentraining erfolgen können. Um die Waffenausbildung in den Milizformationen erfolgreich abschliessen zu können, ist es erforderlich, dass die Schützen mit Übungswaffen in Form und Art der verwendeten Echtwaffen (primär SIG SG 550) trainieren können.
