Who makes this, how, and from what

The founder

[Your name] — [two lines: background, why you started this, where you are based]. This is a one-person operation with a lot of automation: every item is pulled from public sources, structured by machine, and the ones that matter are read and annotated by me. If something is wrong, tell me and it gets fixed the same day.

Methodology

  1. Ingest. Daily: TED (Tenders Electronic Daily) via the official API v3, filtered to defence scope — legal basis Directive 2009/81/EC or CPV 35* plus a curated allowlist of adjacent codes (defence R&D, military MRO, defence services). Contract notices, prior information notices and contract award notices. EU Funding & Tenders Portal for EDF/EDIP calls where reachable. National programmes (UKDI, AID, Cyberagentur, EUDIS, DIANA, MIND, national procurement agencies) and SAFE contract announcements are curated by hand from official pages and press releases.
  2. Structure. Each item is normalised into a fixed schema (deadline, budget in EUR, funding rate, eligibility, consortium requirement, status) and tagged against a fixed capability taxonomy. Extraction is done by an LLM with a strict schema and “never guess — return null” rules; low-confidence items are flagged auto-extracted, not yet reviewed until a human checks them. Reviewed items show ✓ analyst reviewed.
  3. Annotate. The “why it matters” line is written for a BD lead at a defence-tech company: who should care, and what the concrete opportunity or signal is. It is opinion, not advice, and never a substitute for reading the source.
  4. Brief. Every Monday: what changed last week — new awards ≥ €1m, new tenders and calls, deadlines closing, movement by capability — plus a short founder note.

Data licensing & legal

Switzerland is covered as its own market: federal, cantonal and municipal notices from the simap.ch public API (armasuisse, VBS/DDPS, BABS, BAZG, fedpol, RUAG and any buyer using defence CPV codes — including below-WTO-threshold notices, direct awards and RFIs that never reach TED), Swiss notices on TED, Swiss federal press releases (VBS/DDPS, armasuisse, Federal Council, SECO, Innosuisse) and hand-curated items (Innosuisse–armasuisse Flagship, CYD Campus, Armed Forces Dispatch, Swiss–EU security partnership, War Material Act vote).
