Why it matters
This is the first Swiss defence-linked innovation money open to industry at scale since the 2025 armament-policy strategy — and it is capped to Swiss-based value creation, so foreign firms only get in through a Swiss subsidiary or partner. PNT, photonics and C-UAS SMEs in Switzerland (and EU firms with Swiss operations) should treat 27 Oct as the real deadline.
Do this: Assemble ≥3 Swiss research partners (one must be a Fachhochschule) plus ≥2 Swiss implementation partners, use the b2match partner platform, and file the pre-proposal on Innolink before 27 Oct 2026 12:00 CET; read the 30 Jun 2026 Guide for applicants and the 1 Sep FAQ first.

Summary
First joint Innosuisse–armasuisse call under the Flagship Initiative: CHF 20m for systemic, transdisciplinary dual-use innovation in three areas — (1) resilient positioning, navigation and timing (GNSS-independent PNT, inertial and quantum timing, anti-jamming), (2) photonics for communication and sensing (secure optical comms, QKD, LIDAR, hyperspectral, neuromorphic sensing), (3) technologies to counter drones (detection, identification, tracking, C2, active countermeasures). Timeline: call open 1 Jul 2026, webinar 13 Aug, written questions until 20 Aug, FAQ 1 Sep, pre-proposal deadline 27 Oct 2026, full proposals 4 May 2027, decision July 2027, start Q4 2027/Q1 2028.
Eligibility
Consortia of at least three Swiss research partners (incl. at least one university of applied sciences) and at least two implementation partners that create value in Switzerland; projects must have a genuine dual-use (civil + defence) perspective — single-use proposals are ineligible; armasuisse itself is not available as implementation partner in the 2026 call.
