Why it matters
High oversubscription in EDIP's debut call signals strong demand and sets a benchmark for the next EDIP Industrial Reinforcement Action calls; energetics and munitions producers not in these 83 consortia should prepare now. Relevant for propellant/explosives makers and materials-manufacturing SMEs planning capacity expansion with EU co-funding.
Do this: Track the EDIP Industrial Reinforcement Actions page and the EU Funding & Tenders Portal for the next EDIP call, and start lining up co-financing and consortium partners in energetics/munitions supply chains now.

The call for proposals on ‘Energetic Components’ will provide
over €165 million to European companies
to reinforce their production capacities for propellant powder, explosives and other key energetic components of missiles, bombs, anti-drone systems, and other critical ammunitions. This funding is expected to leverage additional investment from industry through co-financing, resulting in a total investment of
up to €470 million in this key supply chain.
The strong geographic spread of the proposals, covering companies from
23 Member States and Norway
, underlines the programme’s relevance across the European defence technological and industrial base.
The Commission services will now evaluate the proposals and identify the most relevant ones by September 2026.
The
European Defence Industry Programme (EDIP)
